Meet the Rabbits
Oreo
More Than a Show Rabbit
Oreo is a black-and-white Holland Lop buck (male) with a calm, gentle personality and an impressive show record. He earned Best in Show at the Kitsap County 4-H Summer Classic and qualified for the Washington State Fair.
But his most important role is personal. Oreo is an emotional support animal for our autistic son, joining him at school, traveling with our family, and even taking his first airplane trip to Texas. His steady presence shows how a rabbit can build confidence, offer comfort, and create meaningful connection.
The Rest of the Crew
Koekje (“Cookie”)
The Little Show Bunny
Koekje is a Holland Lop doe (female) in the solid tortoiseshell variety. With her round little build and irresistibly sweet face, she may be the cutest—and perhaps the chubbiest—member of the Bunny Trails crew.
She is our daughter’s primary 4-H showmanship rabbit and qualified for the 2026 Washington State Fair. Koekje brings together everything we love about rabbits: personality, companionship, responsibility, and plenty of charm.
Polly & Poppy
The Rescue Sisters
Polly and Poppy were our family’s first rabbits, adopted together as rescues. Believed to be Blue-Eyed White Vienna rabbits, they have the classic white coat and bright-eyed appearance many people picture when they imagine an Easter Bunny.
The sisters are inseparable—well, most of the time. Polly is about 25 percent larger and often plays the protective big sister to Poppy, but both are affectionate little cuddle bugs who helped begin our family’s love of rabbits.
Why Rabbits?
Comfort Through Connection
Rabbits naturally invite a slower pace. Their quiet presence, soft coats, and gentle movements can make interaction approachable for people who may feel overwhelmed by louder or more active animals.
Bunny Trails experiences can be adapted around each guest’s age, abilities, sensory preferences, and comfort level. Interaction may include:
• Observing from a comfortable distance
• Brushing a rabbit’s soft coat
• Offering rabbit-safe treats
• Holding or sitting beside a rabbit when appropriate
• Learning about rabbit behavior and care
These simple interactions can create opportunities for calm, focus, confidence, communication, and meaningful connection. Guests are always encouraged to participate at their own pace.
Bunny Trails provides supportive animal interaction and educational experiences. It does not provide clinical therapy or medical treatment.
